Indian Mesa

This Hohokam "fortified hilltop" overlooks Lake Pleasant from its lofty locale atop a large butte. The site had 16 rooms when it was built between A.D. 800 and 1100.

Just one of the ancient stone rooms atop Indian Mesa.

Looking up at Indian Mesa from near the Agua Fria River.
The ruin is at the very top

Lake Pleasant, with a very low water level, as
